Are you focused on the important things God wants you to do or are you letting distractions get the best of you? Is time running out for you or are you using your time wisely? Do you know the time is now to do what the Lord told us to do? Let me tell you, I know all about distractions and I know all about lazy time. And I don't want anybody else to live there. I spent too much time there years ago and that was then and this is now. I'm not going back to those hu-hum days of doing nothing and being nothing. I know all about putting things off and procrastinating like it was nobody's business and I know those are not traits that help anybody. So, I'm asking those questions to you and I'm asking them for I. That's right.
I was inspired to do today's podcast by a podcast I listen to called 5 Minute Inspirationz with a Z at the end. It's a podcast on Anchor hosted by Larry Hunter and it's really my favorite podcast on Anchor. Last Thursday Larry did an episode titled, "Paging Passenger Larry Hunter!" That's another one of the cool things about 5 Minute Inspirationz I really like. Larry gives his episodes catchy titles as though we were right there with him as he tells funny and engaging stories about his life. He's such a story-teller that I often find myself swept away when he gives details only Larry can give. And he does that all while connecting the stories to God, which I really love. That's what makes his podcast so much fun to listen to really, because he connects the dots. The "Paging Passenger Larry Hunter!" episode was about our time here on earth and how using our time wisely is crucial to doing what we are supposed to do here. Larry tells the story about how he was at the Atlanta Airport with a 4 hour layover and almost missed his flight, because he got distracted when he thought he had more time. Check out 5 Minute Inspirationz. You will be inspired and let me tell you, it will be for more than 5 minutes.
The point is, we don't know when we may run out of time, right? So why not just do what it is we're here to do? So far, it's not too late as long as our vision still lives in our heart, God will still honor it. He still gives us the desires of our heart even when we miss opportunities. In other words, He still opens the avenues we need Him to open, but we have to get started on the vision He has for us. Psalm 37:4 says to delight ourselves in the Lord, and He will give us the desires of our heart. We just start have to take our time here seriously, because it will be a shame for our time to run out. We just have to start from where we are now, work hard, and move on to the great things the Lord has for us. When we do that, we will make it.
Yes, I do not know when my time will run out, but I pray to be working right up to the end of my life like my Aunt Mary Brewer.
