The new you

2 Corinthians 5:17 says, "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." You can walk in confidence in knowing that, because it's about knowing who you are, what makes your tick, and what drives you. Do you know who you are? When we know who we really are, then we know who we are in Christ. We no longer look back at who we used to be, we look at who we are now and who we are becoming. We focus on the new creations, not on what's old and passed away.

When you know yourself you don't have to convince others to like you, to love you, or beg anybody to do anything for you or with you. I'm not saying we don't need people, because we all need people. I'm just saying that when we know who we are, we know how to operate from a loving, godly, peaceful, and strong place of confidence and we don't need anybody's approval. No bragging, no boasting, no arrogance, and no pride. It's just a quiet confidence of knowing who we are. That's it. And nobody can knock us off of that solid place, because in many cases it's taken so long to get there. We're firmly rooted and grounded in Christ and we don't have to proof anything to anybody. 

So, I've come to encourage those who already know who they really are, to continue your walk of confidence in the Lord and the ones who are still searching, that's ok too. As long as you're searching for truth, you will find it. Matthew 6:33 reminds us to continuously seek the Lord and He will add to our lives, which means we will be able to walk with confidence as we walk with the Lord.

Protecting My Peace - Day 95 - We Have to Stop Giving Away Our Power
