The hall of faith

Daily Devotional Podcast. Follow along with blog post.

When I look at the 'Hall of Faith' in Hebrews 11, I can't help but think that the people who did great feats of God were the people who were the most different. Although some of them may have been uncomfortable to do the things they did, they nevertheless, did them. That's what it's going to take to do the things ordinary people won't do. Are you one of those people who isn't afraid to be different, isn't afraid to be the odd one out, and isn't afraid to stand alone? If so, then you have the makings of a great leader who God can use to do mighty things. Like many of the leaders in Hebrews 11, going to high levels will require being alone and lonely sometimes. And it will require being isolated and sometimes even alienated in order to do what God wants you to do. Being such a leader may even take being misunderstood, being labeled crazy or weird, and some even thinking you're a nerd. You must not let any of those things bother you. In fact if you are going to do extraordinary things for God, being in your right mind is a must to be able to do them. You have to be a strong, obedient, and willing vessel and just any ole person can't step up to do those things. It has to be somebody amazing and that would be you. So just realize that if God called you to it He will be with you the entire way as you go through it. He will never leave you out there. Why would He if He called and chose you do to it? Wouldn't that be contradictory? Listen, God isn't a God like that. Just the opposite. He's a strategic God who knows exactly what He's doing and why He's doing it. And He's never wrong. Never. He's perfection at its finest.

So what am I saying? I'm saying that anybody who is chosen to be a serious leader will have to go through things to be worthy of such an important role. It's part of the process. So just in case you may be saying, "I am afraid", well you're in good company. And what I'd say to that is just do it anyway, because that's what great leaders do. You're going to be just fine, because, "for many are called, but few are chosen" (Matthew 22:14). You're one of the special ones, so continue to be different.

Protecting My Peace - Day 98 - Momentum and Movement, That’s What's Up

Click to listen to current podcast episode. “Never Giving Up” are power-words — strong affirmations that give us momentum and movement. That’s what’s up. We can do so much more in our lives when we have momentum and movement. It’s about standing, literally and not sitting or laying around feeling sorry for ourselves. I used to do that once upon a time and that sorrowful thinking is for the birds. We don’t have to be down. We can get up and get going even if we start small. In fact, I love starting small, because it helps set a firm foundation of habits and routines. Momentum and movement will help us get and maintain a position of strength to do what God says we can do. Protecting My Peace - Day 96 - Disciplining Ourselves for Next Level Greatness

Click to listen to today's podcast episode. When it comes to next level greatness, we have to know that applies to us, not just everyone else. Do you know what God has for you? Do you? He has GREATNESS for you. Yes, YOU -- all of us. It's about doing what you can do and only you can do. You are the only one with your DNA -- none of us. is the same Yet, even when we're feeling down, discouraged, and out, those emotions are only temporary. None of us has it all together. Sometimes I procrastinate and put things off when I know I should be doing better. Yet, I am not as diligent and disciplined as I can be sometimes. Like when it comes to working out, I delay it, because I don't like it anymore. And although I love reading the bible, I haven't been reading it as often as I should lately. Yes, I, Sharon, the Faith Coach, do not do the things I'm supposed to do when I'm supposed to do them. And that my dear friends should not come as a shock to no one. It certa...

Protecting My Peace - Day 95 - We Have to Stop Giving Away Our Power

Click to listen to today's podcast episode. Are you giving away your power? Are you letting people take control over our lives? If so, it’s time to stop operating like that. If we’re letting anyone influence us to the point that it’s causing us emotional pain or taking our peace, we have to move away from such people. It doesn’t matter if it’s in a personal or professional environment. Stay positive and productive in the process though, because dealing with challenges are part of the life process. Nevertheless, we can “fight” for our right for peace and respect. We just fight smart and continue to know who we are, especially who we are in Christ Jesus.
