Sometimes we have to encourage ourselves in the Lord. Yes, of course God is always there. That’s going to be the case regardless especially when we have a great relationship with Him, but since life happens and it sometimes seems nobody is around, we have to go to God even if it seems He’s not there. God is there. Believe that. So be encouraged.
That’s what David did in 1 Samuel 30:6, he encouraged himself in the Lord when all the chips were down. He encouraged himself in the Lord when all turned against him. He encouraged himself in the Lord when he needed the strength. And He knew where that strength came from, the Lord, because he knew the Lord was with him. Thus, he knew he could do anything and he knew he could be anything.
