God is the anchor

Do you know that God will never leave us or forsake us? That's right.  Hebrews 13:5   is proof of that, because  it says stay content in the Lord. That is one of the many things to stand on when it comes to being rooted, grounded, and anchored in the Lord. It's a guarantee of a life filled with an overflow of God's love. To have that continuous overflow of our childlike love to our everlasting God, involves knowing that Jesus is the only way to God, the Father, which means that when we confess "Jesus is Lord," and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead, we will be saved" ( Romans 10 :9). He will become our anchor to be strong in Him if we want to live in eternal peace (not hell).  "For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved (Romans 10:10). In other words, that   seals the deal and enables us to rely on God as our anchor for the rest of our lives. I

Little big starts

Zechariah 4 :10 reminds us not to despise or fret over the things that start small. God will ensure the low in the world becomes high. And sometimes what starts out small is really a big thing that hasn't happened yet.  Did you know that just about everything we see that is big today, one day started out small? It doesn't matter if it's a person, place, or thing, it had to start from nothing. It didn't just exist. A baby always starts to crawl before it walks and walks before it runs. People may say, 'my baby never crawled, he just started walking one day.' I believe that baby crawled at some point and perhaps nobody saw him all that much or maybe he didn't appear to be crawling. I don't believe anyone gets up one day and just walks then runs. It's a physiological process we humans go through in stages. My point is that there are steps to progress. There are steps to growth. There are steps to going from one level to the next. It doesn't

Don't waste your tomorrows on your yesterdays

Forget what happened in the past, and do not dwell on events from long ago ( Isaiah 43 :18).  I'm rereading, An Enemy Called Average , by John L. Mason, which is a book about being more than enough. His book has 77 "nuggets" in it, which are little chapters with encouraging words. In Nugget 16, Mason says we should be careful not to let the past get the best of us, because it will hold us back from going forward. Don't I know that all too well. I should indeed, because it took years for me to start walking in my purpose and the vision the Lord has for me. I wasted soooooo much time wasting time on what people would think about me that I didn't think much about anybody else. That's what happens when we live in the past. We become stifled and that muffles our voice. Then we can't be good for anybody including ourselves. I finally woke up and realized that if I didn't take more godly chances (which means relying on Him and the wisdom He plac

Sending you encouragement

"Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing" ( 1 Thessalonians 5 :11).  That's what Paul told the church at Thessalonia. The Apostle Paul was encouraging the people to help each other and to lift each other up. Who doesn't agree with that? Of course that's what we need to do. We all need encouragement sometimes. It doesn't matter who we are and what position we're in. That's what In Sharon's Heart is all about. It's about encouraging first and foremost, because I know how it is to be down and out. Yet God is a God who hears our prayers and He can get us out of the valley and onto the mountain tops. His love is long and stretches until forever. I want people to know He loves them and wants more for them. He always wants all of us to go to the next level. He wants all of us to be joyous. That's why He brings certain people, places, and things into our lives. In Sharon's Heart is one of those

God is blessing you

Do you know that when God says you're going to be blessed with a promise He's made to you, it's going to happen? Because when God said it was going to get done, it's going to get done. Nobody can stop it, nobody can block it, and nobody can influence the outcome. What God has your name on, is for you and only you.  You see, when God makes a promise He stands by it and when we take Him at His glorious Word (the bible) -- when we put all our faith in Him, then there's no reason to think He will do anything less. He wants to bless us and He wants us to live an abundant life. He doesn't want us to stop living, He doesn't want us to give up, and He doesn't want us to ever lose hope that He will do what He said He would do. Isn't that great news? Embrace it and stand on it.  "For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God" ( 2 Co

It's about wisdom (with podcast episode #9)

This blog post is a "transcript" of the latest podcast. Click to listen to podcast or/and read blog post. If you had a chance to ask God for anything and you knew it would be granted, what would it be? Do you know there's a man who did just that and God gave him even more than he asked for? Oh yes, his name is Solomon and in 1 Kings 3 , he asked God for wisdom and he got much more. In 1 Kings 3 , Solomon had a dream and in that dream God asked him what He could do for him for being so obedient to God. Solomon asked for wisdom and it was granted. In fact, because Solomon didn't ask for wealth or vengeance on his enemies, God gave him wealth, honor, and leadership like no other. So just know that if God did that for Solomon He can do it for you too. Do you know what I like about the book of  Proverbs ? It's primarily a book about wisdom that we can all benefit from. As the chief writer of Proverbs, King Solomon writes much about wisdom. And although he wen

Walking Tall

If you're walking with the Lord, you're walking tall. I know it's not always easy in this world to walk with Christ, because so many things come against us. Yet here's the thing, we must continue to walk strong and continue to take refuge in Him. He is constant, steady, reliable, and consistent. He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. That helps makes our walk doable. Faith is a large part of the Christian walk and it has to be exercised in order to continue walking tall. We have to also be alright with walking by the faith and walking in the trust we have in Christ, not by what we see. 2 Corinthians 5 :7 says, " for we walk by faith, not by sight."  That's crucial to our walk with God. And when we get to the point of our faith doing the walking for us, then things will start happening that we can't [naturally] explain. That's because God is at work on our behalf. Life is so much easier when we walk like that. Not perfect, just easier.

God's handiwork

"For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do" ( Ephesians 2 :10).  What another encouraging scripture, right? It's amazing the goodness all wrapped up in God's Word. Whatever you want, it's in there. Whatever you need, you got it in the bible. It's the one-stop shop to get every and anything you desire for your life and the life of those around you. Let's talk about God's work -- you, His creation, His handiwork. One of the reason He created you and I was to do the best work we can do while we're here. Before we were born He already knew His plans for our life, because as Jeremiah 1 :5 says,  "“before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart..." So, isn't it clear to see that He has a purpose for each and everyone of us and that He wants to use His handiwork?  Hear what Sha Sha has to say about God's handiwork. Sha Sha

Faithful God

God never gives us more than we can handle. We can get through anything with Him. John 16 :33 says, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Are you going through anything particularly challenging today? Whatever you're going through or the challenges that may be in front of you, you can get through them. I write alot about overcoming, because life is not a joke. It has high points and low points. I think many of us wish it could be filled with high points just about all the time, but that's not reality. And as I said in the header of this blog, "almost everybody is going through something" or just came out of something, or is going into something. That's just the way it is, thus, In Sharon's Heart is here to encourage you to keep going despite it all. You can and will get through the valleys and the rough spots. I am confident of that very thing.

Rock Solid

I will stand firm on The Rock. I will stand tall with the God of Awesomeness. He is there always. His ways are perfect even if I don't understand why. He's a firm foundation of support. I will  "trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal" ( Isaiah 26 :4). Yes,   the everlasting Rock  -- "a stone, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, of a sure foundation: ‘Whoever believes will not be in haste’ ( Isaiah 28:14-29 ).  The Cornerstone.  The Rock: To hold up. A firm setting. A strong mass. An unshakable entity. Reliable. Safe. Dependable. Reinforcing. Secure. Steady. Jesus , He is the rock we can stand on any time , any day. The Rock who will never wear out. The Rock who will never wash away. The Rock who will never weaken. The solid Rock. We're so blessed to have Him in our lives. We would be nothing without Him. He is the strength, love, and hope we all need.  Hear what Sha Sha has to say about how God being our

Unqualified to qualified

Won't God do it? Won't God take His people from "nothing" to something, in an instant? He did it all throughout the bible. There are many stories about the nothing, low, underdogs who triumphed over undeniable feats ( 1 Corinthians 1 :27-29) . Don't you just love the the spirit of the underdog? I know I do.  I love what God does with the person of little status in the world. I love it when the Lord shuts the mouths of lions  ( Daniel 6 :21-22) like He did with Daniel when the king's men wanted to stop Daniel's anointing. I love it when the Lord protects us against the monsters and giants who try to come against us. I love it when the Lord sees to it that the underdog, the one who was looked at as the mistaken one, comes out unscathed. Yes I just love it when the Lord Jesus Christ reassures the saints that they will reach the mountain tops. God loves it when we walk the walk. God loves a great reveal. He loves to show people, through other people, w

Steadfast

Steadfast -- that's a great word for the people who are determined, unstoppable, unmovable, and unshakable when it comes to having faith, serving, and staying true to the Lord God. You can't let life's struggles, pain, challenges, hurt, setbacks, and sorrow stop you from knowing God doesn't give any of us more than we can handle. He's with us every step of the way, because He still has a great plan for our lives (Jeremiah 29:11). Being steadfast is another term for being faithful that God is not going to leave you in a state of despair, despondency, or a place of helplessness. Do you believe that? You have to believe it, because God acts on our faith -- belief and trust that He will do all the great things He said He would do in our lives. We have to be steadfast in our faith in Him. There's a story in the bible ( Mark 5:25-34 ) about a woman who had an issue with blood. She bled for 12 years and went to many doctors who could not heal her. In fact she

Blessed, regardless (with podcast episode #8)

This blog post is a "transcript" of podcast #8. Listen to podcast or/and read blog post. I would like to tell you about how God blessed a man in the bible, who was overlooked and cast aside. For some reason I identify with such people. Maybe it's because that's how I've felt on occasions -- misunderstood and lied about. How about you? Have any of you ever felt that way? If so, I'm here to tell you that God is aware of what you've been through or going through and it is my prayer that these words will be a comfort to you that there is still much more for your life. Focus on what God is going to do for you and weed out all the negative. You are blessed. Know that.  Have you ever heard the story about the leper?   Luke 17:11-19 ,  says that when Jesus was on His way to Jerusalem, He passed by a group of 10 lepers. They cried out to Him to have mercy on them and to heal them. And Jesus did -- He healed them all. And they went away rejoici

Heavenly citizenship

"Our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ" ( Philippians 3 :20). And the fact is, we are really at home in heaven, which means we can get what we need from there, because we can and should rely on our heavenly resources. That's where our power comes from. Don't rely on worldly resources to take care of heavenly/spiritual things. One is limited and the other is limitless. It's a no-brainer. It's true, the eternal God is where our true freedom and power comes from and He reigns from heaven above. Although His spirit also dwells here on earth, He is our heavenly father. Remember that. It's very important, because we must know where our power lies and that we are not foreigners to the Lord. We have citizenship and born-again rights with Him. Yes, amen, and hallelujah to that.  Hear what Sha Sha has to say about heavenly citizenship. Sha Sha is my avatar, so her face is based on my face and the voice yo

Godly freedom

There's freedom with God in our lives. There's freedom in Christ, because we can give everything to Him. He accepts us when we're high and when we're low. He accepts us anytime, any day and He never tires of us. He loves us and He blesses us. Isn't that great? Thus, you are always free to go to the place the Lord is sending us. We have everything we need. None of will fail, because the Lord will be with His children and you are His child if you turned your life over to Him. Just know that, because there's freedom in the Most High, you are strong, you are mighty, and you are ready to take off.  So you can go in faith. Walk in your destiny. Fly butterfly fly. He has plans for you and you will be able to walk boldly with your head held high as you gaze your eyes on the Lord Jesus. In freedom with God, we can get to the point where people see God when they see us. Isn't that also great? It's great, because when you have godly freedom, every stride

God will open the right doors

Some doors open and some doors close. We should be thankful. God will open the doors we need to walk through and close the ones that will be disastrous for us. It's wise to seek God in which ones we need to walk through. When we do that we can rest assured that God will only steer us in the best direction. We will be positioned nicely for greater opportunity and future success. Be led by God, not man when it comes to the direction of your life, because once God opens a door, no man can shut it. To be more specific, when we are in tune with what God has for our lives and we wait patiently for him (which means grinding, working, and not trying to do things without God) then His words are clear: "I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut. I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name ( Revelation 3 :8).  Favor.

This is the day the Lord has made

"This is the day the Lord has made, let's rejoice and be glad in it!" Many of us have heard that scripture before, right? It comes from Psalm 118 :24.  And it's one of my favorite scriptures. Like certain words, lyrics, and names, there are some scriptures I just love repeating -- certain scriptures that get me in a good mood. Scriptures that remind me that everything is going to be alright no matter what. That's what Psalm 118:24 does. It's just a happy scripture.  So yes, this day, tomorrow and even the days after that and the days after that...are all the days the Lord has made and guess what? They are going to be awesome days. I refuse to think anything less than them being wonderfully fulfilling days, simply because the Lord has made them. And He wants us to enjoy every last one of them simply, because they exist. Yes it's all so much easier said than done. That, I know and I have to at least have the outlook I have that God has so much more

It's ok to be different

The video is a transcript of today's blog post. Click to watch and/or read blog post for better retention. When I look at the 'Hall of Faith' in Hebrews 11 , I can't help but think that the people who did great feats of God were the people who were the most different. Although some of them may have been uncomfortable to do the things they did, they nevertheless, did them. That's what it's going to take to do the things ordinary people won't do. Are you one of those people who isn't afraid to be different, isn't afraid to be the odd one out, and isn't afraid to stand alone? If so, then you have the makings of a great leader who God can use to do mighty things. Like many of the leaders in Hebrews 11 , going to high levels will require being alone and lonely sometimes. And it will require being isolated and sometimes even alienated in order to do what God wants you to do. Being such a leader may even take being misunderstood, being label

Continue

Keep going no matter what comes your way. Don't stop doing what the Lord told you to do. Don''t stop doing what lives in your godly heart. When you believe that, when your faith is strong, you're unstoppable.  Let your stance be loving, peaceful, strong and resolute that no matter how difficult things get, no matter what's in front of you, and no matter who understands and who doesn't, continue to tell yourself that you're in this God thing for the long haul. God's Word (the bible) says that no matter may come your way, "no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me, says the Lord" ( Isaiah 54 :17). Further proof that God continues to do what He's always done: loves and looks out for His children. Continue worshiping, praising, and serving the Most High. He's going to contin

Connections (with podcast episode #7)

This blog post is a "transcript" of podcast #7. Listen to podcast or/and read blog post. Stay connected -- to the people who mean something. Stay connected to quality and positive people. There was one time when I flew solo. In other words I had retreated inside myself and kept myself at a distance from people, because   I had gotten hurt by people I trusted, that I decided whomever I "befriended" I would distrust until I felt close enough to trust them. Sometimes I was just expecting them to mess up by betraying my trust, lying, or spreading gossip, so I wouldn't allow myself to get that close to them. The drawback in that was that I isolated myself to a certain extent and although I was around people, I was often alone in a crowd. Then I got wind of  Proverbs  18 :1 that says, "whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire; he breaks out against all sound judgment." And I was like 'oh wow, that's me. I'm operating in pride

Don't tolerate less

Do you know you are valuable, precious, and substantial to God? That clearly means you're royalty because you are a descendant of kings and of The King. Thus, royalty doesn't get sloppy seconds. Royalty doesn't get left-overs. And royalty doesn't get less than the best that God has for them. Yes we are royalty and yes we are regal simply because we are children of the Most High. Being in the kingdom of God has its advantages, doesn't it? And just in case we don't, we should act like we're just that special to Him. I'm not saying walk around with a proud, haughty, arrogant, prideful way about you. God despises such an attitude  (Proverbs 29:23; Isaiah 2:11/12). What I'm saying is that we have a right to walk in a godly confidence that we are God's family. So we should expect to be treated like the kings and queens we are. We should be able to change the atmosphere when we walk into places -- it doesn't matter what place, people should se

A strong tower

"The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe" ( Proverbs 18 :10).  Some people complain about the world, about the planet. But we really have nothing to complain about, because the world is imperfect, because we, the people, live in it. Yet, we are welcome to embrace the Lord in all His splendor. For some of us, He is our resting place, our refuge, and our safe place to dwell. He's a strong tower for sure, but not literally, because that would be too small for His majesty. Yet, spiritually and figuratively, because He's King of all kings and Lord of all lords, plus much more. No one can really explain Him in His entirety. He's just that awesome, for lack of a better word. Walking through life without Him would be like being lost in space.  Just know He's there for His children anytime. His spirit and His light never runs out. His presence is everywhere. You want His covering? Ask Him into your heart as you beli

Another gift from God

Click to watch the blog post in images, and/or read blog post for better retention. There are many gifts from God, but the most important is the gift of salvation. Do you know what being born-again, saved, or salvation means? For starters, all three of those terms mean the same thing. Joseph Prince sums up salvation pretty well. He says, "Salvation is to be saved—from hell, from a broken relationship with God, and from the curses that plague mankind as a result of Adam’s fall in the Garden of Eden." Prince doesn't get all deep about it, although he can, because he's deep like that. Yet on his website he keeps things simple in his explanation, which I like, so if you want to know a little more about salvation in addition to reading the scriptures, you can check out what he has to say about it. According to the scriptures or the bible, to be saved or salvation is the following: "...if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and belie

You're important

Yes, you were special before you were born, you're important now, and you always will be important to the God of the universe, who absolutely adores you. Your life means something. Why would He make anything in His image that doesn't mean anything? I will not believe God set us up like that. I think He creates masterpieces and when those masterpieces know who they are in Christ, they will continue to be molded and crafted as a maintained vehicle of greatness. God's continued workmanship on us never runs out as long as we're in tune and in relationship with the Lord God.   God says in  Jeremiah 1 :5,  that   "before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” That's for anyone who believes it. That's for anyone who acknowledges that we weren't created from God for   nothing. We were created to be impactful, inspirational, edifying, and uplifting to people. That's what

The best in you

Because at the end of the day, we have to be able to live life abundantly, laugh out loud, and love endlessly. Those are some of the things God wants for us. He wants us to have a full life and although living life like it's golden takes work, it's obtainable. Do you believe it? Believe it, because it starts with a belief and a faith that God wants that and I'll go even further and say He expects it. Why would He expect anything less? Not only should we have inner peace, but an inner light that shines wherever we go and the people we encounter can get that light as well. When you take living, laughing, and loving seriously and when you surround yourself with those who bring out the best in you, not the stress in you" (Life Limits) then there's a peace that comes with that. A peace that surpasses all understanding, which will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus ( Philippians 4 :7). Hear what Sha Sha has to say about God seeing the best in you. S
