The Alabaster Jar

Do you know Jesus is a forgiving God? That's right, He will forgive us for anything we've done and I mean anything. He's not concerned with our past. He's not concerned with our mistakes. He's not concerned with the people who judge others and look upon them with scorn because of their sins. Jesus proved this once again when He forgave the sinful woman people didn't want anything to do with. When she encountered Jesus at one of the judgmental holier than thou, Pharisee’s house, she kissed his feet and anointed them with perfume. Can you imagine? What a gesture of utter love and dedication. Luke 7:37 says  "a woman in that town who lived a sinful life learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house, so she came there with an alabaster jar of perfume."

It was obvious she didn't care who was looking at her. That's what happens when you want to get to Jesus. You don't care what anyone says. You just do whatever it takes to serve Him. The woman cried upon meeting Him and when her tears soaked His feet, she wiped them with her hair. And she was also so captivated by His presence that she kissed His feet and poured perfume on them. She wanted to let Jesus know she wanted more of Him. What a sweet story. Jesus was so moved and touched by her act of love that he told her, her past sins were forgiven, that her faith made her well, and she could walk away in peace (Luke 7:36-50).

I love that story. It's one of many about Jesus who forgives freely when we seek Him.

Protecting My Peace - Day 98 - Momentum and Movement, That’s What's Up

Click to listen to current podcast episode. “Never Giving Up” are power-words — strong affirmations that give us momentum and movement. That’s what’s up. We can do so much more in our lives when we have momentum and movement. It’s about standing, literally and not sitting or laying around feeling sorry for ourselves. I used to do that once upon a time and that sorrowful thinking is for the birds. We don’t have to be down. We can get up and get going even if we start small. In fact, I love starting small, because it helps set a firm foundation of habits and routines. Momentum and movement will help us get and maintain a position of strength to do what God says we can do. Protecting My Peace - Day 96 - Disciplining Ourselves for Next Level Greatness

Click to listen to today's podcast episode. When it comes to next level greatness, we have to know that applies to us, not just everyone else. Do you know what God has for you? Do you? He has GREATNESS for you. Yes, YOU -- all of us. It's about doing what you can do and only you can do. You are the only one with your DNA -- none of us. is the same Yet, even when we're feeling down, discouraged, and out, those emotions are only temporary. None of us has it all together. Sometimes I procrastinate and put things off when I know I should be doing better. Yet, I am not as diligent and disciplined as I can be sometimes. Like when it comes to working out, I delay it, because I don't like it anymore. And although I love reading the bible, I haven't been reading it as often as I should lately. Yes, I, Sharon, the Faith Coach, do not do the things I'm supposed to do when I'm supposed to do them. And that my dear friends should not come as a shock to no one. It certa...

Protecting My Peace - Day 95 - We Have to Stop Giving Away Our Power

Click to listen to today's podcast episode. Are you giving away your power? Are you letting people take control over our lives? If so, it’s time to stop operating like that. If we’re letting anyone influence us to the point that it’s causing us emotional pain or taking our peace, we have to move away from such people. It doesn’t matter if it’s in a personal or professional environment. Stay positive and productive in the process though, because dealing with challenges are part of the life process. Nevertheless, we can “fight” for our right for peace and respect. We just fight smart and continue to know who we are, especially who we are in Christ Jesus.
