"He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe" (John 1:7).
Thank God for John, the Baptist. He was the witness to Jesus' baptism, because he was the one who baptized Jesus, sent by God to do just that. I am so thankful that God blessed us with Jesus to cover us with his grace and truth, and that we are no longer under the law. That means we were covered by our Holy Father when we gave our lives to Him. "Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!", John exclaimed in verse 29.
Jesus doesn't condemn us and He continues to love us in spite of ourselves. Everyday we ought to give Him praise just for that, but we all get busy with our lives -- the lives He blessed us with. He knows we are thankful though. And He protects us even when we don't deserve one ounce of it. What an awesome God we serve. This is yet another day we should all be filled with His goodness
