No Distractions

Esther is one of my favorite women in the bible. I like her for many reasons. Namely, that she was focused and goal oriented.

For instance:
1. She prepared. She did the hard work and got herself in order before she went to meet the king, her future husband. She had no idea if he would choose her. She just did what she had to do in order to go to the next level. So she accomplished what she had come to do, marry the king.

2. She listened. There's nothing like having someone in your corner with wisdom and who wants great things for you. Esther had two of those people. She had Mordecai, her cousin and Hegai, the king's eunuch (guard over the women/palace official). When Mordecai told her what to do to set herself apart (by not revealing too much), that's what she did. When Hegai told her what to do to gain the king's favor, she did those things. And she got what she came for, she married the king.

My point is, Esther kept her mind on the prize. She prepared although things probably got hard and she listened at times when she probably didn't like some of the advice she was given. She didn't let nothing stand in her way to reach her goal. And I'm sure there were many distractions and distractors, but apparently none of them stopped her.

Not one.

Protecting My Peace - Day 98 - Momentum and Movement, That’s What's Up

Click to listen to current podcast episode. “Never Giving Up” are power-words — strong affirmations that give us momentum and movement. That’s what’s up. We can do so much more in our lives when we have momentum and movement. It’s about standing, literally and not sitting or laying around feeling sorry for ourselves. I used to do that once upon a time and that sorrowful thinking is for the birds. We don’t have to be down. We can get up and get going even if we start small. In fact, I love starting small, because it helps set a firm foundation of habits and routines. Momentum and movement will help us get and maintain a position of strength to do what God says we can do. Protecting My Peace - Day 96 - Disciplining Ourselves for Next Level Greatness

Click to listen to today's podcast episode. When it comes to next level greatness, we have to know that applies to us, not just everyone else. Do you know what God has for you? Do you? He has GREATNESS for you. Yes, YOU -- all of us. It's about doing what you can do and only you can do. You are the only one with your DNA -- none of us. is the same Yet, even when we're feeling down, discouraged, and out, those emotions are only temporary. None of us has it all together. Sometimes I procrastinate and put things off when I know I should be doing better. Yet, I am not as diligent and disciplined as I can be sometimes. Like when it comes to working out, I delay it, because I don't like it anymore. And although I love reading the bible, I haven't been reading it as often as I should lately. Yes, I, Sharon, the Faith Coach, do not do the things I'm supposed to do when I'm supposed to do them. And that my dear friends should not come as a shock to no one. It certa...

Protecting My Peace - Day 95 - We Have to Stop Giving Away Our Power

Click to listen to today's podcast episode. Are you giving away your power? Are you letting people take control over our lives? If so, it’s time to stop operating like that. If we’re letting anyone influence us to the point that it’s causing us emotional pain or taking our peace, we have to move away from such people. It doesn’t matter if it’s in a personal or professional environment. Stay positive and productive in the process though, because dealing with challenges are part of the life process. Nevertheless, we can “fight” for our right for peace and respect. We just fight smart and continue to know who we are, especially who we are in Christ Jesus.
